3.      Enter ‘your email’ without @rcn.com in the ‘Username’.
4.      Enter your password in the ‘Password’ column.
5.      Select ‘SSL’ in ‘Security Type’.
6.      Enter ‘995’in Port Number.

Outgoing Server Details:

1.      Enter ‘pop.rcn.com’ in the ‘Server Address’.
2.      Enter ‘your email’ without @rcn.com in the ‘Username’.
3.      Enter your password in the ‘Password’ column.
4.      Select ‘TLS’ in ‘Security Type’.
5.      Enter ‘587’ in Port Number.

POP3 Instructions:

These settings will make way for you to set up POP on your Windows Live Mail so that you can easily connect it to the server in order to download your email. It is recommended to use IMAP, but if you want to go with POP, then here are the steps that you will have to follow:

1.      Open Windows Live Mail.

2.      Add your RCN email account.

a.      Select ‘File’ from the menu option given at the top of the window.
b.      Select ‘Options’.
c.       Select the option named ‘email accounts’
d.      Select ‘Add’.
e.      Choose your email account.

3.      Type in the below-mentioned information:

a.      Email address: Your RCN email address.
b.      Password: Your RCN email password.
c.       Click ‘Yes’ to ‘remember this password’ option.
d.      The display name for your sent messages: You need to add your full name here.
e.      Click ‘Yes’ to the option that says, ‘Manually configure server settings’.
f.        Select ‘next’.

4.      Enter incoming server information

a.      Server Type: POP
b.      Server Address: imap.rcn.com
                                                              i.      Port: 993
c.       Logon User name: Your RCN email address excluding @rcn.com

5.      Enter outgoing server information

a.      Server address: Enter ‘mail.rcn.com’.
b.      Port: 587.
c.       Click ‘Yes’ to the option named ‘required authentication’.

6.      Click Next and then Finish.
